Mark Coulson

Managing Director

Mark is the founder, owner and CEO of MSC Performance. Mark has worked in the fitness industry for 14 years after completing his masters degree in Strength and Conditioning. He set up MSC Performance in 2015, to bring strength and conditioning training to the public sector and making world class coaching and facilities more accessible. Prior to setting up MSC, Mark’s background included contracting for the British Military, where he trained up PTI’s in the Royal Navy, Army and RAF, as well as the Royal Marines, Parachute Regiment and Special Forces. During this time he also worked as a strength and conditioning coach for Great Britain Forces Rugby League in the lead up, and during, a successful world cup campaign. He also worked with elite weightlifters and field athletes, and continues to do so when time allows! Since opening up MSC, Mark has continued to work with and consult with professional athletes, as well as developing the core values, successful classes and thriving environment at MSC which has led to successful results for so many! He is also a professional Rugby player, where he plays for Bournville Rugby Club, where he has been since 2016.

Luke Rogers coach at MSC Performance

Luke Rogers

General Manager / Head Coach

Luke has been a coach at MSC from day 1, moving over from the commercial setting, in pursuit of providing guidance, coaching and facilities to an elite level, but accessible for everyone that wishes to utilise them! Luke heads up the programmeming for our barbell club, alongside predominately coaching our powerlifters. As a coach Luke has successfully coached several people to podium positions at the British championships, alongside 4 British Champions, 2 of which went on to compete at the IPF World championships. Alongside his role at MSC performance, Luke is also a coach for the Great Britain Junior powerlifting team, coaching at several European and World championships. As a powerlifter competitor, Luke has represented Great Britain internationally three times, including the 2021 World championships in Sweden. Luke also won the 2019 British championships with a 685kg total and at the time breaking the British deadlift record with a pull of 295kg, in the 74kg weight class. Luke studied Sports studies at the University of Wolverhampton and has since undertaken several additional courses to develop himself into an effective and knowledgeable coach. When not at MSC or training, Luke enjoys playing basketball (go and follow the JQ_Jackals!), going out for coffee and traveling the world as frequently as he can!​

Kitti Olasz coach at MSC Performance

Kitti Olasz

Strength Coach

Kitti is a Strength & Conditioning Coach at MSC. Kitti moved to the UK from Hungary 5 years ago to do a Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, culinary skills, quality assurance and product development. While completing her BSc, Kitti has worked as a Personal Trainer in commercial gyms which made her realise that her true passion lies in helping people reach their full potential in the sports and fitness industry, hence why enrolling on a Master’s degree in Strength, Conditioning and Performance. In the past year, Kitti has been a Teaching Assistant Intern on undergraduate S&C programmes at UCB, while coaching athletes such as Birmingham City FC and Worcester Warriors male academy players, Premier League Match Officials, University of Birmingham Triathletes, and several UCB Sports Scholars. While finishing her Master’s, Kitti is also involved in coaching female academy players at Sutton Coldfield Town FC and gaining her Level 2 Award in Coaching Weightlifting. Outside of MSC, you’ll find Kitti dancing to Latin or Dancehall music on one of Birmingham’s dance floors, enjoying a walk or a book in nature, or working on Asanas and her mental wellness in a Yoga class!

Steve Foster

Strength Coach

Steve has spent 20yrs in coaching and teaching previously as a college lecturer, before becoming a full time Strength and Conditioning coach. Steve prides himself on making fitness accessible to all and with his teaching experience delivers high quality coaching by being able to communicate on different levels to get the most out of the client or group. From the everyday fit for life client to Olympic lifters and Sports Performance client Steve embraces each client with the same friendly, positive, welcoming and professional outlook. Having worked on multiple Hakeem Olajuwon (former NBA player) annual basketball camps as well as working with numerous basketball academies there is history of working on developing athletes within the sport Steve loves and still competes in with him representing GB at overs 40’s for the masters basketball in the european championships. Steve has also worked with numerous pro boxers as well as the day to day professionals from all working backgrounds enabling not only physical fitness but embedding the importance of positive mental health alongside their fitness and performance journeys. Steve is an avid sneaker collector and will always be seen in fresh kicks mainly air jordans and he also loves music and strong black coffee.

Max Hartman coach at MSC Performance

Max Hartman

Head of Sports Therapy / Strength Coach

Max is the head of the MSC Performance Sports Injury Clinic and one of our longest serving strength coaches. Max initially started in the industry in 2013 at Leicester Tigers Rugby after completing his undergraduate degree in sports therapy and rehabilitation. He spent 3 years in Leicester working at the Tigers as a rehabilitation coach alongside his private practice, working closely with GB Ski and Snowboard in the run up the the Sochi winter olympics. Moving on from Leicester, Max has spent time at both Ealing Trailfinders and Coventry Rugby in the English Championship, where he worked on both sides of the injury rehab world as a senior sports therapist and head of strength and conditioning respectively. For the past 5 years Max has been working full time here at MSC managing a diary of clinic based injury assessments and hands on therapy, as well as coaching clients on the gym floor through long term rehab plans, or detailed personal training programmemes for those with a history of injury in need of a more tailored approach to training. With his experience in team sport Max has recently taken the lead on MSC Performance’s partnership with Bournville Rugby, where Max oversees all aspects of the clubs physical preparation. In the past has worked closely with Mark when professional athletes have come to MSC for guidance on their own preparation and rehabilitation, as well as consulting with Worcester Warriors Rugby and Gymshark. Outside of the gym Max fancies himself as Britain’s next Masterchef, and can usually be found in the kitchen cooking up a storm, or in one of the local independent cafes or restaurants doing market research!

Jura Mucnjak coach at MSC Performance

Jura Mucnjak

Strength Coach

Jura moved from Croatia to the UK 8 years ago to study Sports science, but his love for sport and exercise started from a young age when he took up Ice Hockey at the age of 4! Later he moved on to play water polo, basketball and MMA, before discovering Rugby when starting University. Jura has been working in the fitness world since 2017 and started by working with youth Basketball players back in Crotia. Ever since first training at MSC back in 2015 when starting his degree, Jura fell in love with the place, and made it a goal to eventually come and work with us. Moving forward, Jura is looking to do a masters degree in Strength and Conditioning and to get back into Rugby. Outside of work, Jura enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports, listening to podcasts and eating delicious food!
